Thomas is completing an undergraduate degree in Physical Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria. He joined the POLIS Water Sustainability Project in October 2016 as its Communications and Research Assistant through the university’s work study program. Thomas has had co-op placements with the federal government (Parks Canada), the provincial government (BC MFLNRO), and a small-scale land trust. Concepts of land and resource management have been a common thread in both his academic studies and work experience. Thomas is interested in further exploring how environmental justice relates to health and well-being on both local and global scales, and somehow this prairie boy has come to love swimming in salt water.
