Roleen Sevillena

Events and Special Projects Coordinator

Roleen joined the POLIS Water Sustainability Project in August 2017 as its Events and Special Projects Coordinator. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria studying Environmental Studies and Classics. Taking courses in political ecology broadened her perspective on the issue of water rights and bioregional watershed boundaries. Living in coastal communities on Vancouver Island and in the Philippines has continued to spark her interest in water governance and marine conservation. Since graduating, she has worked on ecological restoration projects, food security initiatives, and nature education programs. Roleen has also taken on a contract work with Engaging Minds Consulting and the Metro Vancouver Regional District as part of their watershed outreach team. She is passionate about raising awareness on environmental issues and facilitating projects that push for a sustainable future.
