Kamilla Hindmarch is in her last year of an undergraduate degree in Marine Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies. During her academic journey at the University of Victoria, she had the opportunity to study and conduct research at Bamfield Marine Science Centre. This experience helped shape her academic and research interests, particularly in conservation efforts related to marine community ecology, animal behaviour, and seabird ecology. Kamilla has been involved in several hands-on conservation projects, including coral restoration in Costa Rica and kelp restoration on the Sunshine Coast, B.C. This work reflects her passion for community-driven environmental solutions. She also enjoys blending art with biology by creating engaging artwork that raises awareness about the natural world and conservation efforts. In her free time, Kamilla enjoys underwater photography, gravel biking, ultimate frisbee, and surfing. She looks forward to her work in freshwater research, policy-driven environmental solutions, and working with the POLIS team.
