In October and December 2025, the POLIS Water Sustainability Project provided submissions to the Water Stewardship and Security Branch of the B.C. Ministry of Land, Water, and Resource Stewardship regarding the provincial government’s proposed changes to natural resource permitting. Comments from the POLIS team focused on three water-related permitting changes:
- Low volume water use without an authorization
- Low volume water use streamlined authorization process
- Expediting existing use groundwater applications
The first letter was submitted on October 17th, 2025 and an updated version with additional comments was submitted on December 12th, 2025.
