Abstract
In recent years, governments at all levels in Canada have stated their commitments to reconciliation and building nation-to-nation approaches with Indigenous Peoples, including commitments to implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. This article explores one pathway forward towards bringing UNDRIP to life in the freshwater context: collaborative consent. The article provides details on the concept and approach of collaborative consent and its key hallmark features.
