Building SustainABLE Communities

Oliver M. Brandes and Rosie Simms will be two of 90 speakers at the seventh Building SustainABLE Communities conference hosted by the Fresh Outlook Foundation November 21st to 24th in Kelowna, B.C. They will speak at the sessions:

  • Thinking Like a Watershed: Pathways to Ecological Governance in B.C.;
  • Comparing Apples to Oranges: Lessons for B.C. from California’s Drought & Water Law Reform; and
  • Reaping the Rewards of Collaborative Consent.

The theme of this year’s conference is Innovation Through Collaboration, and this highly acclaimed event features forums on climate action, water stewardship, food systems/security, and community capital/infrastructure. Workshop and breakout topics include ecological economics, community engagement, leadership and governance, sustainable development, active transportation, community health, local prosperity, collaborative change, ecological imperatives, and the sharing economy.
